Semilla is an all youth group of musicians, mostly related by the same father! (thus the name Semilla which means “seed” in spanish) They live in Popayan, Colombia and have drawn alot of regional press for their remarkable playing ability.

This is a short documentary i shot while in San Agustin, Colombia last year, 2006. With great help from guide Luis “polyglot” Salazar I put together this 6 minute video in which Luis de-mystifies some of the mysteries surrounding the statues, their origins and meanings. This blog is designed specifically to showcase our exclusive Howling Earth music videos of South America presented in the fast loading youtube flash video format. On our flagship site Howling Earth, and on it’s sister site, El Mundo Aullando, we present our music videos in the popular WMV format which is great, but the the files can be a bit large and slow loading for viewers with slower internet connections.

As we edit our new videos from Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela and the Amazon, we will be presenting many of those on this blog, so be sure to bookmark us!
